John DBrian Drab on Sysnative posted a response saying that I likely did not experience an update on 5/18, 5/19, and 5/24. I have three Dell desktops and one Dell laptop and only one of the desktops is seeing the repeated updates.

But I am puzzled that removing it from my system had not stopped the updating. I've never had to use the backup, but every machine is different. Generally I'm very conservative with registry cleaning.

Maybe the uninstalles leaves behind some registry keys. I'm not shy about making individual registry edits as long I understand exactly what's the key(s) do.

Such an approach might actually be more effective than a page-by-page test which would inevitably miss something.

It is also possible that the changes from 2.0 to 4.5 might not affect your code-base at all. From that last link there is actually a sample (probably more) that might have you checking each page individually: Page parsing The page parser for ASP.
